HEW BREW
An exploration of Brewery Branding
The name Hew Brew is derived from a shortening of my surname ‘Hewines’ and the way it rhymes with Brew. Hew Brew attempts to contradict the rise of AI in can designs by using bold, collaged designed. The focus is put on handmade designs. The priority is to make human made designs the focus and to draw in consumers through the ability to make concious choices based on the involvement of real people. Brewing is a labour intenseive process and brands deserve graphics that reflect the human centric nature of their work.I created a series of mock ups for the project and a series of social media posts to advertise my willingness to engage with this kind of work. This project acts as a convergence of my intrest in Illustration and in bar based hospitality. It allows me to engage my skills in crafting cocktails and upselling alchohol with my abilities to craft meaningful designs. The core values of Hew Brew: whimsey, boldness and human crafted works.
